SOCIAL-FIRST CONTENT

One of my favorite parts of my roles have been social-first content creation and concepting. In social media I am responsible for developing content and concepts quickly and keep a close eye on the social landscape, from conversations to creative trends. This also includes keeping an eye on new mediums and features rolled out across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Tiktok, and concepting how the brand takes part in these new features. Below, explore a few of my favorite recent pieces of social-first content creation.

The Notorious Necklace

One of our most popular products to date was our re-release of our dissent collar, which grew in popularity after it was worn by Ruth Bader Ginsburg during her dissents in court. We used this landscape graphic cut to Instagram carousel specs for a dynamic social-first way to announce the relaunch of our Notorious Necklace, in honor of the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

We featured the necklace on the first frame and the community could swipe for the information on our donation.

2020 Community Moment

2020 was a tiring one. As we reset in 2021, we wanted to promote positivity and optimism at the start of the year with a social-first community moment.

We prompted our followers to answer the question: what lessons did you learn in 2020 that you will take into 2021?

Self Love Phone Backgrounds - Valentine’s Day

For Valentine’s Day, we wanted to create social-first content around the idea of self-love, and that regardless of if you do or don’t have a partner to spend Valentine’s Day with, self-love is the foundation of love itself. We had an adjoining Instagram story that day of 6 screenshot-worthy self-love backgrounds.

This was a relatable - share-worthy meme trend I recreated for Poshmark with the help of our team!

Holiday Gift Guide

In retail, the “last day to ship” to receive your order in time for Christmas is a big last push in sales for the holiday season. On our last day to ship, we wanted to do something a bit more editorial. We concepted a sharable, saveable social gift guide for both our men’s and women’s channels with our team’s curated picks of giftable pieces.

It featured products that we’re on-trend, covetable and unique, that weren’t shot in marketing or featured elsewhere.

2020 Community Moment

First, we shared an Instagram Story leveraging Instagram “Question” feature, polling the community for their answers.

The responses blew us away. We got hundreds of responses, all very thoughtful and unique, and it was one of our most engaged-in Instagram Stories of the year, with a reach of 37,000, a 48% increase from our average benchmark.

#DollyParton Challenge

We had fun taking part in the social media trend the #DollyPartonChallenge that went viral in January of 2019. We acted quickly and reactively to put out relevant content to align with the social trend.

Work Where?

For our March Work Where? campaign, we explore the changing landscape of work with people redefining the 9-5 and workwear as we know it. We sat down with 12 real people who are leaders in their chosen industries and have found their own spin on the “work uniform.” Each had their own Instagram feature moment, in a dynamic carousel and Instagram story.

2020 Community Moment

We re-shared 5 of the most inspiring answers in a carousel on our Instagram feed, as a resource that our community could use the “save” feature and come back to.

Reels + TikTok - Jewelry Try-On

In 2020, we launched Reels and TikTok in-house, short-form video content. We concepted based on business and product needs and brand stories. Not only were these some of our top-performing video content of all time (double avg views of IGTV and video feed posts) but contributed to Instagram follower growth.

TAP ONCE Interactive Instagram Post

This was a social-first meme approach I concepted and designed for sharing the top-selling brands on Poshmark over the previous month. Users tap once on the image and the brands trending in search will populate, shown above!
